Welcome to The Geeky Waffle!

Formerly known as Geeky Girl Gab, we wanted to shed some light on why we changed our name. As we progress in our personal lives and with the world, we felt that our name should reflect those changes. We want to be a safe space for every geek, having an emphasis on all diversity and genders that tend to be in the minority in the geek fandoms. Having a more inclusive name means that we won’t alienate others and still keep true to ourselves. 

Why The Geeky Waffle?  Well, we are, in fact, the definition of geeky -

“be or become extremely excited or enthusiastic about a subject, typically one of specialist or minority interest.” And fun fact - Waffle is another word for Gab. To Waffle is to “speak or write, especially at great length, without saying anything important or useful.” We know to some it might not be useful or important - but, it’s important to us, and, as we know, all of our fellow geeks! We ascribe to this definition more because of the plethora of topics and information there is to cover in all of the wonderfully brilliant, interesting, or just plain fun fandoms that exist, and how we enjoy riffing on all our favorites - and most importantly, how we love listening to our guests, our writers, and our audience expand our horizons by voicing their own unique views.

We speak with our feelings and our passion, because that’s who we are. Pop culture has defined our generation, and we will gladly get lost in it. It’s an escapism that has helped shape who we are (hopefully for the better), and we want to help shape it for the better. There is so much to improve upon and we want to discuss those issues while also having fun.
